Item Information

Parker manufactures chemical resistant PTFE tubing in industrial wall, heavy wall and metric designs. This flexible, high-temperature fluoropolymer tubing operates in temperatures up to 500°F/260°C and is the most chemical and corrosion resistant tubing available from Parker. It is ideal for use in extreme environments.  A PTFE tube has a non-stick surface that facilitates flow and eliminates media buildup. In many cases, it is used to replace glass, rubber and stainless steel because of its chemical and corrosion resistance. In equipment applications, the vibration damping properties of PTFE are excellent at both sonic and ultrasonic frequencies.  Extruded PTFE tubing is attacked by so few chemicals that it is easier to describe the exceptions rather than list the chemicals it is compatible with. These chemically inert tubes are non-wetting and non-leaching, making them ideal for a wide range of instrumentation tubing applications. And when you need food grade tubing, PTFE is often chosen because it can handle the strong soaps and cleaners used to purge transfer lines, has the lowest coefficient of friction of any plastic and is FDA compliant.  PTFE Fractional and Metric smooth bore tubing is supplied in natural but it is also available with a conductive I.D. or as a fully conductive tube to reduce static discharge. Parflex customer service can help you with selection for custom designs, conductive tubing, sizes or colors.

Markets:
• Fluid Transfer
• Life Science
• Food and Beverage
• Semiconductor

Features/Benefits:
• Resistant to extreme heat or cold (-100°F to +500°F)
• Best chemical and corrosion resistance
• Best flex life of all fluoropolymer tubing
• Lowest coefficient of friction of all plastics for easy cleaning
• Non-wetting and non-leaching
• Odorless and tasteless makes it ideal for food and beverage applications
• Resists ultra-violet rays
• Self-extinguishing plastic

Applications:
• Chemical/Corrosive applications
• Medical devices
• Analytical instruments
• Instrumentation
• Laboratory
• Food/Beverage processing
• Printing/Marking equipment
• Cryogenic refrigeration systems
• Heat exchangers

Certifications:
• 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant
• USP Class VI compliant
• UL 94 V-0 compliant

Technical Specifications:
• Working and burst pressures calculated at 73°F /23°C
• Chemical Resistance: Fluoropolymers withstand most chemicals and solvents except for Elemental Sodium, Elemental Potassium, and Elemental Lithium. Elemental Sodium will remove the fluorine from the polymer molecule and the other metals have a similar affect.
• All dimensions are nominal
• Supplied in random lengths (continuous lengths available as a custom run)
